Clean a phone charging port

Prerequisites: Phone is yours to open the port on · A non-metal pick or wooden toothpick

Goal

Get a cable to seat fully again by removing lint and dust from the charging port. Do not scrape metal pins.

1. Power the phone off.
2. Point a light into the port and look for lint packed against the back wall.
3. Use a dry wooden or plastic pick. Work from the sides, not by digging at the pins.
4. Tap the phone (port down) to drop loose debris. Do not blow into the port.
5. Try the cable. If it still wobbles, stop and repeat with a finer pick — do not force metal.
